Museum Hours:
WED-SUN 10 am to 5 pm
For over fifty years now, education has been at the heart of our mission here at the Armstrong Air & Space Museum. Our organization strives everyday to inspire the next generation of explorers, innovators, and problem-solvers. In many regards, education is much like a sunrise. Just as the horizon of a sunrise is the dynamic line where the sky meets the Earth, education is the dynamic process where curiosity meets information, unfolding discovery and illuminating us all. In the spirit of this philosophy, the Armstrong Air & Space Museum is excited to announce our newest event, Horizons.
Over the next year, our museum is pledging to support schools and clubs across the area who might not otherwise have the resources available to visit and learn with us. By participating in Horizons, you have the opportunity to help in this cause and make a significant impact on the lives of hundreds of students in economically challenged areas.
Horizons will be hosted on Saturday, March 16th, the 58th anniversary of Neil Armstrong's first space mission, Gemini VIII. Guests will have the opportunity to walk around the museum and experience some of the educational programming the museum offers. Beverages and heavy hors d'oeuvres will be served. The night will also feature a number of impressive silent auction items and packages.
Sometimes in a suit and tie, other times in jeans and Converse Chuck Taylors, Dr. Frederic Bertley is a scientist (immunologist), educator, and advocate for critical and innovative thinking. Dr. B is President & CEO of the Center of Science and Industry (COSI), where he is leading the nationally ranked science center into the 21st Century through innovation and programming. In addition, he serves on several boards, sharing his perspective and insight, and speaks and presents around the world on a myriad of topics from the importance of science literacy and careers in STEAM; to leadership development, problem solving ideation, and the road to diversity and equity.
