The Armstrong Air & Space Museum will open participation in the Young Astronaut Program to students in kindergarten through seventh grade. This year's program schedule will consist of weekly sessions, a change from last year's monthly meeting schedule.
Returning themes will be rocketry, astronomy, the study of astrobiology, and engineering and design. Additional themes will focus the learning efforts of students towards critical thinking and problem-solving in the realm of STEM (science, technology, engineering and math), and science fiction. Parents and students alike should expect a more enhanced learning experience and greater opportunities to foster interest in all facets of air and space exploration. Similar to last year, the program will conclude with a model rocket launch.
