On January 27, 1967, America lost three astronauts in the Apollo 1 fire.

On January 28, 1986, We lost seven astronauts shortly after the liftoff of the Shuttle Challenger.

On February 1, 2003, the seven member crew of the Shuttle Columbia was lost upon reentry.

This week, we pay tribute to those who "slipped the surly bonds of earth to touch the face of God."
